Woodings – Summary of work
Tuesday April 20, 2004
I worked with Pete Stagg today to finish up all the smaller jobs and the electrical troubles.

We fixed the rear stop lights. The ground was bad on one and the connections inside the rear lights are bad. It needs two new rear tail and stop lights. The frame of the car is used for a circuit which is a bad idea if reliability is desired.

The fuse block is bad. In-line fuses have previously been added here and there. We added a new two-position fuse block for the stop lights and another unknown circuit. We did not have time to trace out all the wires and replace the bad fuse block, although a new blade type fuse block is on hand.

We were able to free up the choke control. It no longer requires a gorilla to operate it. The left wiper is fixed permanently. Missing screws in the interior trim have been replaced. The brake return spring is fixed. All grease fittings were lubed except for the left front suspension pivot which would not take grease. The rear axle oil was topped off. I got the new U-joint yoke on my way home and will get it to Pete as required.

All that is left is assembling the transmission and installing it. Much more time required than it sounds like. Walter Antonik repaired the clutch assembly and Pete has it.

Pete has the material for a real tow-bar, which will be mounted on the rear with pins. (from Dick Ray)
